Kibitzer's Corner
Feb-03-07   GreenCastle: 18.Bg8! would have won. Perhaps White saw the defense 18...Rf5 19.Bxf4 (with the idea Bc7) Qc6, but 20.Qxf5 exf5 21.Bxd5 looks crushing.
Sep-09-07   OBIT: <GreenCastle> Nice analysis of 18.Bg8! After 21. Bxd5 Qb5 22. Re3!, threatening Rh3+, forces 22...Qxd5, when 23. Re8+ Qg8 24. Rxd8! wins a piece.

After 18. Bg8, I also looked at (a) 18...Bd7, but 19. Bxe6! Bxe6 20. Nxe6 wins a piece, and (b) 18...Qxd4 19. Qxf5! exf5 20. Re8 g7 21. Bxd5+ Kg7 22. Be5+ Qxe5 23. Rxe5 leaves White a rook up.
