Dec-15-08  YoungEd: I can see that if 23. ...Ng5, 24. Qxh6+ wins a pawn. But I don't see an immediate follow-up attack. Am I missing something, or did Black resign a bit early?
Dec-15-08  A.G. Argent: <YoungEd> Well, I would say that with winning the pawn with 24.Qxh6+, and after 24...Kg8, 25.h4 also nails the Knight and being down a piece and a pawn evidently was plenty of reason for Wahltuch to chuck it in because maybe 26.Bg4 working towards 27.Be6 would have been a breakthrough for Conde. Would have been a serious slog for Black to bust through all those damn pawns to even get a glimpse of some counterplay. Quite cramped, he was.
Dec-16-08  YoungEd: Quite right, <A.G. Argent>. I just missed 25. h4. Nice catch--thanks.
