Honza Cervenka: Black quickly lost orientation in unfamiliar opening line. 5...c5 is hardly the best idea and 9...e6 was definitely bad. White simply grabbed a pawn and got that what Tartakower used to describe as "white has Pawn AND compensation". Risignation was not premature here.

Whitehat1963: Why is this over? What's the finish?

perfidious: <Whitehat1963> Don't see a direct end in sight for Black, but this is a grim business: down a pawn with nil compensation and no real play.

Phony Benoni: Too bad he couldn't have beaten Hort. We could have had an Ostermeyer Winner.

Benzol: How about "The Ostermeyer Weekend"?
