Jun-13-03 | | AussiePatzer: This game score seems to be incorrect (31... Bxc6 32. Nc5+ Ka5 33. Bc7#) |

 | | Honza Cervenka: Of course, the final move is not mate. |
|
Jul-25-03 | | AussiePatzer: Sorry for some reason I was thinking the score said 0-1. Resignation was obviously due. |

Dec-08-06 | | sambo: What if 24...Nxf5? I don't see anything concrete after 25. Rxe8+ Nd8 26. Ne6 Kd7. Since nothing down that line looked convincing, my thought was maybe 26. Rb1 has more hope, but after 26...Nd6 27. Rf8 white doesn't have much either. Thoughts? |

Jun-22-09 | | Benzol: I was just looking at <LPeristy>'s collection of Solitis' Best Games of the 20th Century. Five games are missing in total. This is Game No:73 and was apparently missing when the collection was first put together. |

Oct-27-10 | | thomastonk: After 24... Nxf5 25. Rxe8 Nd8, White has 26. Rf8. Now Nf5 has to move and then White continues with cxd4 and is two pawns up. |

Feb-17-11 | | Skakalec: Black avoided total humiliation by resigning!
after 31..Bcx6 32. Nc5+ Ka5 33. Rb5+ !! Bb5 34. Bc7#
I would have allowed that. |
|
Oct-26-11 | | sevenseaman: <Skakalec> <33. Rb5+ Bb5> is superfluous. 33. Bc7# need not wait one move. |

Oct-26-11 | | TheFocus: <sevenseaman> <Skakalec> <33. Rb5+ Bb5> <is superfluous. 33. Bc7# need not wait one move.> Right, but it looks cool. |

 | | LIFE Master AJ: Move score is (now) correct ... I checked it vs. several books, including the Soltis book. Awesome, unbelievable, mind-blowing, incredible, shocking, ... I could go on, but I trust you get the point. I know I have seen this game before, but it just about knocked me out of my chair. (Covered the game score in CB, missed many of the moves.) What an amazing attack ... with ♕'s off the chess board!!!!! I had a book (magazine? pamphlet?) on Bled 1961 ... it might have been from Chess Digest. (Ken Smith, Dallas, TX.) |

 | | LIFE Master AJ: Black Resigned because if 31...♗x♖/c6▢; then comes 32.♘c5+, ♔a5▢; 33.♗c7#. |

Feb-19-16 | | thegoodanarchist: <Skakalec: Black avoided total humiliation by resigning!
after 31..Bcx6 32. Nc5+ Ka5 33. Rb5+ !! Bb5 34. Bc7#> In this line, 33.Rb5 is not a "!!" move, it is a "??" move because 33.Bc6# is mate. |
