Kibitzer's Corner
Dec-20-06  Maynard5: Some very impressive positional play by Ivkov here, all the moreso because it was against a master of positional play like Smyslov. White gradually but inexorably builds up an edge, first dominating the center with e5 and f4, then doubling rooks on the c-file, then gaining a further advantage on the queen side with a5 and Na4, securing control over the critical b6 and c5 squares. All this translates into a decisive advantage in the endgame.
Apr-13-10  jerseybob: It's surprising Ivkov didn't win this tourney, having also scored a fine win against Fischer. At this time period - the mid 60s - he was at his peak.

Jonathan Sarfati: Ivkov unfortunately lost a trivially winning position towards the end to a tail-ender.

May-24-11  ughaibu: Following that, Ivkov lost in the final round too: Ivkov vs Robatsch, 1965 his only ever loss to Robatsch.
