Chessical: Janowsky demolishes Winawer's K-side in an Open Ruy Lopez:

11....Nd7!? now both 11...d4 or Bg4 are played. For an impressive use of the latter see: Yurtaev vs Anand, 1987

<16...Bf8!> seems both a thematic move, and a significant improvement: 17.Ng5 Bg7 18.Nxh7 Kxh7 19.Qh5+ Kg8 20.Bxg6 fxg6 21.Qxg6 Nf8 22.Qg5 Qd8

<17...c5> is no better: 18.Nxh7 Kxh7 19.Qh5+ Kg8 20.Bxg6 Nf8 21.Bc2 Ra7 22.Bh6 Ng6 23.Bxg6

The finish is: <26.Rxe7> Nde6 27.Qxf7+ Kh8 28.Bg7+ Nxg7 29.Qxg7#

Dec-26-04  vonKrolock: This game was the first of a match that went +5-2 to Janowski, whithout draws.

<17...c6>? A decisive blunder, as Schlechter points out: <"Necessary was 17...Nf8, to which White would, probably, answer 18.h4 and h4-h5"> Then black King's situation would be quite awkward in face of an opening of the 'h' line, but White also would have to proceed slowly in order to mobilizate his heavy material, so Black could try to streghtens the defense along the line '7', and eventually prepare some counter play using his Queen side majority
