Jul-01-05  chesed: Does Karpov ever play the Marshall so that Nunn tried 8 a4 in stead of c3?

28 ...Qc7. Karpov clearly wants to win the pawn. And Nunn did nothing but move about in the kingside.

I couldn't see what Nunn was doing on the kingside! See how Karpov ignored everything going on over there? He just captured a pawn and that's it! -compensation. Because there's no real attack for white, was there?

Jul-01-05  abcpokerboy: Let's ask the player himself. "Did you have any attack, John?". "Nunn"
Nov-30-10  M.D. Wilson: it didn't catch on, poker

HeMateMe: Somehow, I think Nunn could be a world class poker player, if he wanted the money, or would spend the time. His math skills, problem solving talents--I'm sure he can calculate odds like the best software. Ahh, I think he likes his telescopes more!
Dec-01-10  M.D. Wilson: Second to Nunn
