Feb-20-04  nextime: why not 24.Qh6??
Feb-20-04  chrismiceli: looks force to me, are we missing something?
Feb-29-04  nextime: I just find it hard to believe kasparov would miss a 2 move mate at any time. i dont see any defense either. oh well.
Sep-01-04  sneaky pete: He missed the mate in 2 because it wasn't there, black played 23... Kf8. See Kasparov vs Merkulov, 1976
Oct-02-05  Chess Addict: What mate in 2?

I don't seem to see it....

Sneaky: Chess Addict, the alternate game score (see had Merkulov playing 23...Kh8?? where the obvious 24.Qh6+ Nh7 25.Qg7# mates.

In cases like this I wish CG would just make a clean sweep of the page, eliminating all the now obsolete discussion about the wrong game score.

Apr-21-07  essekids: by move 27 it seems that white takes control
Dec-04-14  MrJafari: Very attractive game and interesting thing is that a move of white King results to Black's resign!
