Kibitzer's Corner
Aug-04-04  Pawn Ambush: Nice positional lesson by the young Kasparov he take the QID and tranposes it into a Tarrasch with the help,of his opponent of course. This guy's ability to calculate variations is awsome note how the winning of the black pd5 works because of the black weak back rank, all this from move 21.Rb6!

Ability to calculate variations:

1 Kasparov
2 Tal
3 BlackBurne
4 Stein
5 Lasker

Some of the games by these guy's are incredible when you look at the unplayed variations, especially Kasparov some variations in his games seem to hang by a thread thus making the combinations playable.

Hard to imagine keeping Korchnoi off any short list of this type, as he was renowned for those abilities; in particular, he was able to confound Tal with his especial skill in calculation.
