Kibitzer's Corner
Apr-17-04  Bobsterman3000: ouch...
Apr-18-04  iron maiden: Double ouch! Once you entrench a knight on the sixth rank, your game pretty much wins itself.
Apr-18-04  Bobsterman3000: Yeah, Kasparov has always been known to say that a knight posted successfully on d6 can pretty much decide the game by itself, even if it takes considerable sacrifice to get it there...
Feb-10-07  dejavu: But in kasparov vs. palatnik he had the chance to post a knight in d6 and opted for something else that led to crushing of his opponent.
Oct-04-07  Zorilla: The more I look at the end position, the more I see how truly screwed Tinman is.

And they say the Tinman had no heart...

Imagine how good Tinman thought it was going by taking control of the center early. I wonder what he was saying to himself? And then for him to have resigned in 16.

May-24-08  artyom2008: good game
Jun-27-08  rodo: It seems to me Timman would only fall behind with one figure if he had killed that knight on the 16th move
Jan-12-09  YoungEd: I probably would have fallen for the trap losing a knight: 5.Nxe5 Qa5+! Kudos to the champ for avoiding this bit of deviltry! :)

notyetagm: Wow, in this game Timman looked like a pawn-grabbing fish who had never heard of the concept of <PIECE DEVELOPMENT>.
Jan-02-10  atragon: 9. ... Nbd7 how can a Grandmaster plays such a bad move. 9. ... Nc6 and he can play a strong defense. And even worst is 11. ... h6. Terrible. Was it a blitz or a blindfold?
Jan-02-10  I Like Fish: hey noty...

FSR: What a crush. This looks more like a simul game than a game against a world championship contender.
