euripides: Perhaps when playing 14...Qf5 Short overlooked the threat to the queen created by 15.Qe2, and then improvises the piece sacrifice in order to create some counterplay in a bad position. Otherwise this sacrifice seems uncharacteristically speculative. The other three games in the database with this position continue 15...Re8 but Black loses them all.
