Kibitzer's Corner
Dec-15-03   Dick Brain: patzer (in relative terms) has a once in a lifetime chance to knock off Paul Keres in international competition. 32. f5! Rxe1 33. Ke1 Be8 34. Rd8 Bc6 35. f6

And judging from the fact that Keres offered a draw in the line actually played with a pawn up, he is likely losing there too.

whiteshark: <Dick Brain>: I don't like your wording <patzer> here, even <in relative terms>. At least for a decade, starting from about 1935 Soja Graf was the second strongest female player worldwide.

Calling her <patzer> is imo equally calling todays top 20 female players <patzers>. Was that your intention ???

  whiteshark: <Dick Brain>: But even you <knock off> variation, although maybe better evaluated as the game continuation, is not really conclusive: After <32. f5! Rxe1 33. Ke1 Be8 34. Rd8 Bc6 35. f6>

the game could go on <35... gxf5 36.Bc8+ Ka7 37.gxf6 Bd5!> Sacrifying the B vs Pf6 is forced <38.Rxd5 Rxf6>

and imo black has good drawing chances...
