| Oct-09-10 | | Octal: 10 ... Ke8 11 Qh5+ g6 12 Nxg6 Nf6 13 Qg5 Rg8 14 Rxf6 hxg6 (14 ... Rxg6 15 Rf8+) and I'm not sure what to make of it. An idea of Qh6 followed by Qh7 (if the rook were protected) could be brilliant or just stupid. Nd5 is an idea so then white can grab the Bishop on g3, but ... c6 can be annoying. d4 is an obvious choice, but black can't be given any time to consolidate. |

The darling of the romantics, this opening if well played can lead to amazing combinations. Look at the White King's position after 8....Bg3 - an exposed king, but the rook control an open file. What white lacks in material he has enough compensation in space and control. A good game. |

 | | Once: So let's count the pieces. Black has lost a pawn, white has lost three pawns. Black's e pawn has ended the game all the way over on h2. Black has all his pieces left, but white has given up queen, knight and both bishops. Sounds like a massacre ... and it is - for white! The black king is mated all alone on e3. Brutal chess. |
