Nov-03-03  aulero: When you see moves likes 3.Kf2 you should never forget that there is an "infamous" chess rule that forces to move a touched piece ...
Nov-03-03  ughaibu: Kf2 is okay (tumbleweed opening) Kf3 is the problem.
Nov-03-03  rochade18: Kf2 is quite cool, but there are only 5 games including 3.Kf2
Feb-08-04  SamusAran: This is the second worst game I have ever seen.
Feb-08-04  tomh72000: Lol. What is this? Some kind of amusing attempt to prove the power of the king? <Kf2 is quite cool, but there are only 5 games including 3.Kf2> <Kf2 is okay (tumbleweed opening) Kf3 is the problem.> I agree- Kf2 isn't to bad. Kf3 is madness !
Feb-08-04  Minor Piece Activity: Yum, king walk!
Feb-08-04  catfriend: Why did white resign?! So he loses his queen.. so?! Big deal... He should regard it as a queen-sac and win a great game! That's what the Wizard or Super-Nezh would do!
Feb-08-04  Bitzovich: Was this the celebrated John Forbes Nash? ("Beautiful mind")
Mar-02-04  chrismiceli: Reading the book, it says that John Nashes son with Alicia went on to be a master. If this person bares any relation to John Forbes Nash, it is likely to be his son.
Jul-07-05  supertimchan: White had a bad mood.
Feb-18-06  MorphyMatt: 3. Kf2?? It just makes no sense.
Apr-17-06  Rajiv Herman Kramer: Maybe white forgot the empassant rule.
Apr-24-06  Whitehat1963: Nash never could have dealt with Jordan, as this game easily demonstrates, but he sure gave Kobe and the Lakers a hard time last night!
Apr-24-06  Runemaster: According to the database, this is the only one of the five games featuring 3.Kf2 that White lost!

I presume the idea should be 4.g3 fxg3+ 5.Kg2, although in the only other game I found, Howe v Beers 1940, Black didn't immediately play 3...Qh4+.

Could someone please post the links to the other games with the Tumbleweed opening - I'm curious to see how White achieves an 80% score with such a weird opening!

Apr-24-06  Jim Bartle: In 1979 Jordan must have been 15, while Nash was only five, so the result isn't so surprising.
Apr-24-06  Whitehat1963: Yeah, you're right <Jim Bartle>, Nash did play about like 5-year-old in this one, so it's not surprising.
Apr-24-06  Jim Bartle: And talk about stereotyping: Nash was white, Jordan black...
Apr-24-06  DP12: Runemaster White normally would play in this way against inferior opponents. By the way, to my eyes the best response to Qh4+ is Ke2.
Apr-24-06  AlexandraThess: This game explains why it is called King's Gambit, hehehee
May-06-06  CapablancaFan: Interesting...a guy who plays like this (Nash) ends up U.S. Chess Federation Scholastic Director! http://www.uschess.org/news/press/u...

monopole2313: What a coincidence - Jim Jordan also worked for USCF.

Nov-01-09  TheTamale: The king is a fighting piece! Unfortunately, he's not a very good fighter...
Nov-01-09  YoungEd: The Nash Rambler crashes.
Sep-02-11  joshuap: 1.e4 e5 2.f4 exf4 3.Kf2? No wonder I've never haerd of the tumbleweed. Maybe white accidentally toutched his king. 3...Qh4+ 4.Kf3?? This just plain loses. Maybee white accidentally moed his king To f3 also! That would be a very unlucky coicedence! Honestly, I think Kf3 was just an unfortunate blunder. 4...Qh5+ and black wins.
