Kibitzer's Corner
Mar-13-09  M.D. Wilson: I don't think the game score is right. Nc3 was hanging for a very long time.

It's possible that Korchnoi actually played 19.Nxb5 instead of 19.Bxb5. If you then play the remaining moves you'll see that the final position differs only in the position of the knight on c3: it is on c2.

Mar-17-09  M.D. Wilson: That seems right.
Mar-17-09  kurtrichards: Up to the end white's knight at c3 remains. Something wrong with the move sequence? If really there is an error here in posting this game then Chessgames should make an effort to correct this. This is a 1971 game and it is 2009 already. Thirty eight years have gone by and still no correction. Whew!
Mar-18-09  M.D. Wilson: Obviously the knight should be on c2. Then the position works.

stoy: 19 Nxb5 is correct. 23 Nba3 is also correct. I found this game in "Korchnoi's 400 Best Games" by Arco Publishing Co 1978.
