  ConLaMismaMano: Why does white lose?
Jul-23-04  fred lennox: That is a puzzle. What's more, it looks to me white has the better position. White has the c file defended well, so one can't say black controls it.

Zenchess: White resigns because the d5-pawn will soon fall and the rest will be a matter of Korchnoi's excellent technique. A little premature, but understandable.

After 30...Ne7 31. Nxe7 Bxe7 32. Red1 Red8 33. Kh2 Rc5, the d5 pawn falls and a bunch of pieces come off.

Korchnoi had a way of psychologically intimidating opponents like this. In two of his recent games in the Hungary tournament, his opponents had free pawns, but refused to grab them. I think it was a matter of them "believing" Korchnoi.
