 | | sevenseaman: Beautiful like a swollen, flowing river, twisting and turning with purpose - to get ahead and be rid of the turgidity. |

 | | An Englishman: Good Evening: Finest. Swindle. Ever. |

May-20-11
 | | FSR: Very strange - I'm certain this game was previously Game of the Day, under the same title. <An Englishman: Good Evening: Finest. Swindle. Ever.> You must never have seen
Beliavsky vs Christiansen, 1987. |
| May-20-11 | | SpoiltVictorianChild: What an incredible game! In the endgame there I thought white was lost for sure. |
| May-20-11 | | Llawdogg: Very cool game!
It must have been GOTD under the same pun on November 18th, 2005. |

 | | kevin86: One of the greatest games ever played! The agility of white's knight could have made (your favorite gymnast here) proud. White's poor play leads to a loss/but his pure trickery and black's faults actually turn the game into a brilliant win. If O'Henry had written chess, this would have been his game. |

| May-20-11 | | Penguincw: Wow. Marshall is an agressive player. He swindled himself out of trouble. |
| May-20-11 | | James Bowman: Marshall never gave up, keeps throwing punches like an olympic boxer knowing in the end he will win even if not by knock out. That was instructive and fun too. Nice pick by the chessgames crew. |
| May-20-11 | | Rosbach: What a feeling - to win a game this way! |

| May-20-11 | | WhiteRook48: Marshall is incredibly resourceful |
May-26-11
 | | An Englishman: Good Evening: <FSR>, Christiansen pulled off rather a beauty, didn't he? What I like about Marshall's is that the swindle is set on move 44 and doesn't conclude until move 56. Also, during most of these 12 moves, it appears Marco will wriggle his way to victory, only to be disappointed. |

| Aug-09-11 | | ColeTrane: check out game of the day Sydney vs Melbourne for another great scotch gambit game! |
| Sep-29-11 | | fetonzio: this game is AWFUL! although marshall´s solution to the endgame is cute |
| Nov-03-11 | | Whitehat1963: <this game is AWFUL! although marshall´s solution to the endgame is cute> What's a GREAT game, then? |
| Nov-03-11 | | rapidcitychess: Ugh... I think I'm seeing things... Some one saying this game is awful. I need to get a cup of coffee to wake myself up. |
| Nov-03-11 | | Whitehat1963: The last 30(!) moves are amazing! |
