Benzol: 38...Qxe7 39.Qa6+ picks up the Rook at c8. Very nice. I thought Penrose was holding his own for most of this game too.
Dec-18-04  drukenknight: It does not look very easy to finish black off in this.

After 38...Qxe7 39. Qa6+ Kg7 40. Qxc8 followed by 41. Qc4, Black's completely passive and defenseless on the light squares, so White can continue with Kh1-g2-f1-e2, Qd5, Kd3-c4-b5 etc. and the queenside falls (of course with variations depending on how Black defends). It takes a while and requires careful play, but I don't see any serious defense against this plan.

Dec-19-04  drukenknight: I think it depends on if the black Q can find a good place to be in the ensuing moves....hmm, still thinking..
