Kibitzer's Corner
Sep-03-07  Maynard5: This is a rather surprising positional win against Petrosian, although this was the last year that the old champion played before his death. White's strategy of creating an outside passed pawn on the queenside looks suspect. White's pawn on the a-file eventually becomes vulnerable, while Black's advanced pawn on b4 is more powerful. Among other things, it enables the knight to reach c3. After Black gains the a-pawn, the win is just a matter of technique.

GrahamClayton: Black's development and piece play more than compensates for his isolated pawn structure.
