  zydeco: A couple of interesting footnotes to this game.

Spassky planned the cute maneuver 13.Qb1 followed by a4 and at some point Qa2, but chickened out: "At that time the nervous strain of the tournament struggle was already so high, that it seemed to me inappropriate to fight for the initiative by means of so extravagant a path."

13.d5 was also an alternative.

White missed the opportunity for 23.Rd5!, as was later pointed out by Petrosian. After 23....Bxd5 24.cxd5 white is the only one with any real chances. But black could have played 23....Nf6.
