Kibitzer's Corner
Mar-16-15  zydeco: Notes from Cafferty's book on the Candidates Matches:

Larsen prepared an innovation with 12....c4 and 13...Qe8. His idea was to sacrifice a pawn after 14.e4 e5 15.d5 Nd4 16.Nxd4 exd4 17.Rxd4 Bb6.

Lasren thought 15.Bb1 was weak and tried to punish it with 15....e5? Larsen called his move "provocative but not very good."

Portisch gets a dangerous-looking attack. He had planned 20.Qf3 Bb7 21.Bc3! but after 20....Bd7 didn't see a follow-up. If 21.Bc3 hxg5 22.Rxd7 Qxd7 23.Bxc6 g4! Larsen says he was worried here - and "it was sheer good fortune that 20....Bd7 is adequate."

After 20....Bd8 black is doing fine.
