Kibitzer's Corner
Feb-21-06  Runemaster: Great tactical opportunism by GM Rogers.

15.Bc1 looks like a wait-and-see retreat; he was probably hoping for Black to play 15...b6 - and it came. Rogers likely sac'd the bishop in a few seconds and then poured on the pressure.

If 17...Bb7 or 17...Rb8, then 18.Qg3+ sets up a knight check that will discover an attack on the Black queen, winning it.

At the end, White threatens 25.Rxe7 and then Qxf6+, breaking through. The Black knight can't take the rook on d7 because of mate on f7 and if the bishop takes it, Nxd7+ wins the queen.
