paulalbert: I was present for this game of the late Vasily Smyslov, the only time I had to meet him. Unfortunately I did not have any of his books I owned to get an autograph. Michael Rohde is the many times winner of my brilliancy prize in the U.S. Championship, but here Smyslov, definitely one of the all time greats, seemingly beats Michael effortlessly, getting a good position and then with fine endgame technique, an exchange up for a pawn.
