Jul-27-04  Pawn Ambush: We are forgetting Schlechter again.
I pick this game because it shows how different masters handle similar Openings,Morphy played bishops to e3 and d3 followed by knights to e2 and d2 in a game against Meek,Schechter does almost same but with a diferent move order and with pawns c3 and f3 advanced one square.

I used to have problems in blitz against uncommon openings but after I saw the Morphy-Meek game its not a problem any more its a matter of keeping the position flexible until the right moment.

By the way how does one become a good speed chess player? which in my opinion is the most addictive form of chess.

Jul-27-04  Pawn Ambush: Here is that Morphy game.

InspiredByMorphy: Schlechter handles this opening with confidence, and strength. Anderssen played 2. ...g6 against Morphy and he replied 3.Bd3 . Schlechters 3.c3 is interesting because although it doesent develop a piece, it does defend the d pawn well.
