nasmichael: White's advance is not easily stopped--and when these two ended the game, how long had it taken to arrive at this position? I just read the enjoyable book by Bronstein and Smolyan called <<Chess In The Eighties>> which makes mention of time graphs in master games. I would be curious of times taken per move (if anyone knows how I might be able to find this documented) and see how long it was taking for decisions to be made. Even anecdotal observations might help a bit.
May-09-09  jerseybob: This game was decided early. After black's 5..cxd5?(Keene in Flank Openings gives 5..Bxf3 first as the move), Smyslov's 6.Ne5! gives a big edge.
