Kibitzer's Corner
Oct-18-05   psmith: Classical Tarrach principles suggest first that Black's attack with 7...g5 is premature (she is undeveloped and does not control the center) and second that White should not release the tension in the center with 8. dxe5. This doesn't mean I know what White should play. But how about double daring Black with 8. Re1. If 8...g4 9. Nh4 Nxe4 10. Nxe4 Qxh4 11. dxe5 dxe5 12. Nd6+ with a big plus for White, I think. If 8... g4 9. Nh4 Nxe4 10. Nxe4 d5 11. Bf4! (found with help of computer)11. ... Bg7 12. Nd6+! Qxd6 13. Bxe5 Bxe5 14. Rxe5+ Be6 15. Nf5 wins; or 11... dxe4 12. Be5 Rh7 13. Rxe4; or 11... dxc4 12. Bxe5; or 11... Qxh4 12. Bxe5, all with White winning. (And if 8... g4 9. Nh4 exd4 10. Nf5 Qc7 11. Nxd4 is good for White)

Of course Black can play more quietly as well, but White should maintain an advantage, I think. Say 8. Re1 Bg7 9. b3 and now White plans to play dxe5 and Ba3. So maybe now Black should play 9. ... exd4 10. Nxd4 with a good game for white. Or Black can try 9... Nfd7 10. dxe5 Nxe5 11. Nxe5 Bxe5 12. Qd3 when I think White is better again. (mixture of own and computer aided analysis here.)

What's the theory if any on all this?
