Mateo: A very good game for the young Svidler. 21.Bd1?! allows the nice combination 21...Nxd5!, because the Queen Rook is unprotected in some variations.

Then, for some unclear reason, Ivanov didn't play the natural 24.Rd1. If 24...Bg5 25.Kf2 Bxe4?! 26.Rbc1! Rxc1 27.Rxc1 Bc6 28.Nc4!. Thus, it's no so simple. It seems that Black must think to the back rank mating threats first. Maybe 24...h6! first followed by Bg5, Black wins a pawn.

After 24.Nf3?!, White has no counterplay and loses slowly. The position after 33...Bb6 is beautiful. This is a good example showing how 2 Bishops+2 pawns could be much stronger than Rook+Knight.
