Considering their rating difference, yes this must have been a gratifying victory.

Tal was 16 when he played this game. Pasman was the defending Latvian champion (although he was only a few years older than Tal).

  keypusher: Correction -- 1952 was the year Pasman won the Latvian championship. Tal won it the following year.
