Kibitzer's Corner
Oct-21-05  Madman99X: 18. e3 is not correct, although white is already in trouble after 10. Bg2. 18. Qe5 is probably better.

White has no good continuation.

21. Qc3 keeps his majesty out of trouble, but loses at once to Nxc1 where white has no compensation for his rook, and will soon play Qxc4.

21. Rc2 Rxc2 22. Nxc2 Qxc4+ 23. Kg1 Qxc2, and white is down a rook with the same passed pawn on the c-file ready to be crammed down his throat.

21. Rd1 is answered by Qxc4+ (there's that passed pawn again) 22. Rd3 (22. Kg1 Qe2 is bad business) (22. Nd3 Qc2 isn't much better) 22 ... Ba6 23. Qe5 Ra1 24. Be4 Qxe4! 25. Qxe4 Nd2+

I'm sure there are other lines, but nothing good for white.

Jul-31-07  Cactus: Why not 12.Qxb2?
Jul-31-07  Karpova: 12.Qxb2 Bxc3+
