Kibitzer's Corner
Sep-15-10  Resignation Trap: An odd game right from the get-go!
Kupchik plays c4,d4,e4 and f4 all in the first five moves! Adams loved to attack, but defense was another matter. Hence 21.c6!? 23.Qa4 and 24.f6!

37...Qd5? is definitely too optimistic. Allegedly Kupchik said "Did you overlook it"? When he played 38.Qxa7+.

38...Ke6?? was planned, but it's very bad. Do you see why?

Kupchik's 39.Qh7 was actually good, but neither player realized WHY. The reason: instead of the "whew" move 40.Qd3?, White had 40.h4! winning major material.

Finally, Black's 54...Kb6?? is the same type of error that he committed on move 39. Kupchik exploited this final blunder in what must be a very bad case of White square weaknesses.
