Knight13: Black could've won this game. That passed d-pawn is very weak until the very endgame started where the King was near the d-pawn. I believe 50... Kd8 is good. If after 51. Bf1 then that bishop's gonna be stuck there for a while, which is bad. So I guess Black can win after that. Or at least a draw. After 51. Nc4(heading for Nb7+) then 51... Nxg2 52. Na5 Nf4 53. Nb7+ Ke7 54. d8=Q+ Nxd8 55. Nxd8 Nxh3. 54. Bc4!? dosen't work because of after 54...Ne6 55. Bxe6 Kxe6 and followed by promoting gives Black completely a drawn game or lost game.

Black was slightly better in the middlegame, though.

Good game.

Jul-17-05   Toporagno: <Knight13> I agree with you, black could've won, and 50. ...Nxg2 is the guilty move. I like 50. ...Nd8+, and after 51.Kc5 or 51.Kc7 black has 51. ...Nfe6+. After this black's king side majority should prove very dangerous.
Jan-27-07   viv001: why did not black play after 10. Rd1,Bxa2??
Jan-27-07   Sydro: <viv001> 10...Bxa2 is really bad because of 11.Ra1. The bishop gets pinned and soon gets captured.
Jan-28-07   viv001: <Sydro> Thanks for that.
