ColeTrane: Take a look at your own lousy ideas first, because "Toad in the Rd" "Eat Crow" "Bonanza" and "Fine for Overdue Book" are not exactly great and hysterical poetic compositions... They stink! And "Alice in Blunderland"!?! Get over yourself! Your ideas are just as bad as these! Youre just bitter they don't get selected, so go cry about it alone and just shut up about the puns already and try to enjoy the games. Or open your own pun website, you know who you are.
May-27-17  SeanAzarin: Lovely mating attack at the end.

offramp: Southsea had a series of international chess tournaments in the 1950s that really put it on the map. It is in the south, near the sea.
May-27-17  AlicesKnight: <offramp>... but much less so now - I think the bubble burst a while ago... Certainly Black's position was made extremely leaky on the white squares.

Yes it is! Sometimes the # is missing. I think it depends on the game pgn.

ChessHigherCat: It was really a very clever attack if it was all calculated OTB because after 13. ...Bg5 the rest of the game was virtually forced (Trott suffered the cruel, slashing punishment of Cole's Law)
May-27-17  RandomVisitor: Henry's defense didn't Holwell...

Gregor Samsa Mendel: Pretty combination at the end, although it may be easier to sacrifice a queen when you've got a spare ready to deliver the mate.

That explains why Cole said "it wasn't big o' me when I sacrificed the second queen".
