Nov-16-05  MatedStan: The same theme goes for 28... Bxc5 and if 28...Qxb5 29. cxd6+ Rxd6 30 Rxd6 loses a rook i believe
Nov-16-05  weary willy: Would you believe it ... once again I don't understand the punny caption. Don't tell me it's a reference to that favourite US brand, "Ol' Mother Brinck-Claussen's kosher dills", or this variation of the sicilian is sometimes known as the pickle or there was a 70s chart hit "Brinck a little sunshine to this pickled heart of mine" or ...

An Englishman: Good Evening: The title refers to a brand of pickle named Classen or Klaussen or something like that.

Remarkable sacrifice by Gligo: after ...Qxd6, *all* of White's remaining pieces are undeveloped and he is also uncastled!

Good game.

Nov-16-05  Saruman: <tpstar> By mentioning that on the forum you bring even more attention to that advert =)

tpstar: <Saruman> Then again, perhaps they should request due compensation for the plug. I'm sure they'd relish the income. :p
Nov-16-05  ughaibu: What advert?
Nov-16-05  EmperorAtahualpa: LOL <chessgames.com> nice pun!
Nov-16-05  MaxxLange: What on Earth is "Old Sicilian - Open"? Looks like a Sveshnikov from here.
Nov-16-05  DanRoss53: Nice lesson for Black.

Even better for White would have been:

22. d7 Rb8 <(if 22... Kxd7, then 23. Qd5+ Qd6 24. Qxf7+ Kd8 25. Rfd1 Nd4 26. c5 Qe7 27. Qd5+)> 23. Qxc6 f5 24. Qd5 Be7 25. Ra8 Rb6 26. Qxf7 Rxa8 27. Qe8+ Kc7 28. Qxa8 Rxb5 29. cxb5 Kxd7 30. Qc6+

Nov-16-05  weary willy: <<Claussen's Kosher Dills> http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B... Need we say more?> Did you make that up?? (because I certainly did)

kevin86: White gave up a piece to gain three connected passed pawns-dirt cheap!!

Funny,I recently mentioned pickles in the game-Alekhine vs Vasic---good minds think alike?!

Maybe it's pickle week-tomorrow will be a dill-y lol.

Nov-17-05  DeepBlade: Gligoric is IM right?
What is the other guy actually?
Kinda funny to see the lone Rook in the corner in the final position...
May-30-07  wolfmaster: < Gligoric is an IM> <What is the other guy actually>

That is funny!
