Sep-21-04  Rowson: Nice Alekhine Miniture!
Mar-12-05  aw1988: Is it really that hopeless?
Mar-13-05  azaris: <aw1988> All my databases indicate the score is complete. White can put of resistance with 13. Nd5! but after 13...exd5 14. Qxe5+ Be7 15. Bxd5 Qf6 16. Qxf6 Bxf6 White is down a solid pawn and his kingside is a complete mess.

Even 13...Bxc5 14. Nxc7+ Kd8 15. Nxa8 Qxc4 16. Qxc4 Nxc4 looks good for Black.

OBIT: 7. Qg4? Qh4! is a neat trap, actually. 7. d4 doesn't look too convincing either, since the knight can grab the g-pawn (7...Nxg2) and run back to f5, where he appears to be nicely posted.

If White wants to demonstrate there is something wrong with 6...Nf4, he has to try 7. g3 Ng6 8. d4. Then it is up to Black to show White's pawn center is overextended rather than cramping.

Jul-12-12  syracrophy: 6...Nf4!? is the kind of offbeat reply you would like to play in a blitz or speed chess game, but not a move you would play against a high-class player. As <OBIT> suggested, after 7.g3 Ng6 8.d4, Black's position is worse than in other variations of the Alekhine.

I would like to see if there's anything wrong with playing instead 6...Nxc3 and Bxc5.

Shams: <I would like to see if there's anything wrong with playing instead 6...Nxc3 and Bxc5.> 8.d4 and 9.Qg4 looks like it gives White an initiative to me.
