Kibitzer's Corner
Nov-26-02  morphynoman2: 25... Qh4! An elegant ending.
Nov-27-02  drukenknight: I dont see the follow up..
Nov-27-02  pawntificator: Black threatens Rxc1 mate, and white can't properly defend everything. Although I will propose this line for DK to chew on, it's just his sort of "never say die" defence. 26 RxB...QxQ 27 Rd8+ Kg7 28 RxR...alas, even that fails to Qg5+ and the rook falls. Sorry DK I tried but it seems hopeless
Nov-27-02  drukenknight: Hey pawntiff! Guess what? THis is another one of those "drunken counting" positions isnt it? I mean white is up R vs B and he is down by 2 connected pawns.

R v B; 2 pts. ANd black has 2 extra connections. COincidence huh? FUnny often that sort of situation arises.

its not a question of never say die, when I make a blunder I try to admit it and move on. Its a question of training yourself to see when there is a forced mate and when its just your imagination.

in this case, I was thinking just moving the queen along the diagonal e.g. Qe3 or something.

Nov-27-02  pawntificator: 26. Qe3 Qe4
Jul-01-05  khense: QH4 is a Car Jackin alright - sudden & disastrous. 25 RC1 relying on the unprotected queen was a blunder. What kind of game does white have after 25 RG3?
