Dec-09-05  notsodeepthought: With a name like black's, the pun is a bit too easy - but the final combo is pretty.

WannaBe: Nice knight moves by black, I thought black's formation looked more pirc or even modern defence.
Dec-09-05  Drifter: <WannaBe> Its a c5 kings indian that transposed into a benoni once white pushed d5. In a pirc whites c pawn would still be on c2.
Dec-09-05  weary willy: Back on the pun - sometimes the only bit I understand in a game (sometimes the only bit I *don't* understand)... his seems to be a reference to "Antiques Roadshow" which is a UK programme ... US version also?! But you don't have any antiques (he said, provacatively).
Dec-09-05  iuventus: Good Morning. I am shocked by the clumsy play by white. Even I wouldn't play some of those moves! What's that silly pawn-grab on move 34 all about?
Dec-09-05  Hudson Hawk: <inventus>Spite? Inside joke? Hoping that white was feeling generous and would hang the queen to even things back up? And I agree, there's a few dubious moves that I couldn't begin to figure out.
Dec-09-05  Robin01: <What's that silly pawn-grab on move 34 all about?> I do not think it mattered any more at that point.
Dec-09-05  notsodeepthought: <weary willy> I honestly don't know whether there is a US version - I confess I hardly watched the original for that matter, which was aired on PBS as I recall (and maybe still is). I know about the show mainly thanks to a memorable spoof on a US program called "Mad TV" (is there a UK version...?) - this was a few years ago, when Mad TV was still funny.
Dec-09-05  weary willy: <"Mad TV" (is there a UK version...?) > Yes - we call it Sky Sports 1
Dec-09-05  notsodeepthought: Good one... but as it turns out, even Sky Sports 1 is funnier (intentionally or not) than the current Mad TV.
Dec-09-05  dakgootje: pretty nice game which black finished nicely
Dec-09-05  kevin86: Nice combination played by queen and knight to catch the white queen.

The pun is good-as is the TV show.

What is the main difference between antiques and junk? Different TV shows (Sanford and Son vs Antiques Roadshow)

Dec-09-05  Caligula: Nice game, with awesome knight moves by black. The ending was especially awesome.
