plang: Game 1 of the 2 game match in the Finals of this knockout tournament; Adams won 2-0. Adams plan of 11 f5!? was both unusual and risky. The alternative 16..Bxg2 17 Rhg1..Bb7 18 Nce4 looks very risky but 16..Qd7 was suggested by Adams as an improvement for Black. 18..Nxe4 19 Qxe4..Bxg5 20 hxg..Rxg5 21 Qc6+..Kf8 22 Qf3 would have been strong for White.
