Mar-13-03		AgentRgent: As well played as this is, Black isn't Garry Kasparov.. 1st the scoresheet lists S Kasparov, second GK wasn't rated anywhere near 2456 in 2002. It is in fact Sergey Kasparov ( http://www.fide.com/ratings/card.ph... )

Maybe it's because white's a-pawn will never promote but black has 2 passed pawns and has the only winning chances? If black manages to grab the a pawn while even dropping 1 or both pawns it will be a draw? Maybe white sees no way to even sac a rook for a pawn and the bishop as the king is too far away to block the pawns? Please tell me if I'm right and correct me if I'm not. Anyone? Thx.

Apr-17-03		Honza Cervenka: Crafty, why 71.Rb5+? Why not 71.a5 with intention 71...c3 72.Ra2 d4 73.Re1 d3 74.a6? I don't see any clear winning continuation for black there. White always seems to be able to trade a rook for both black pawns. Of course, the ending K+R+B/K+R is drawish.
