Dec-28-03  Lawrence: And poor Sir George loses his Queen. He played badminton very well though. (Only joking, he played chess very well too.)
Aug-25-07  Karpova: <<
I swear again, I would not be a queen
For all the world.>

[William Shakespeare (1564-1616), British dramatist, poet. Anne Bullen, in Henry VIII, act 2, sc. 3, l. 45-6. Ironic in view of what happened to her; she became queen, and was later beheaded.]> http://www.poemhunter.com/search/?q...

Sep-29-07  syracrophy: A nice checkmate!...Wait...the piece on a8 is the queen? Oh, dang! Thought it was the king. Sorry for the error...but...it's anyways mate to the queen!
Feb-09-08  paladin at large: Queens get trapped now and then, but at GM level has a queen ever again been trapped on every square of the long diagonal?
Feb-09-08  HOTDOG: of course 29...Qf8 was better
Dec-31-08  sleepyirv: It's one thing to mate the Queen, but on the long diagonal? Amazing. I notice Queenmates tend to happen more with positional players- their understanding of control allows them to squeeze squares better, like in this situation.
Dec-31-08  Emma: It all seems so simple.
Dec-31-08  prensdepens: This is the kind of chess that is breathtaking, exploring all the small advantages until the opponent can breathe no more, by strangulation.
Dec-31-08  prensdepens: Karpova: <<
I swear again, I would not be a queen
For all the world.>
