  tpstar: Could someone look at this please? If 30. Kg1 I don't see any way for Black to save the piece = 30 ... Nf7? 31. Qh7#, so best seems 30 ... f4! 31. Qxh8+ Kf7 32. Qh5+ Qg6 getting Queens off (else 33 ... Qxg3+) but White has swindling chances in the endgame.
Oct-03-04   notsodeepthought: I'd have to take a closer look but I think the problem with 30 Kg1 (or 30 Kf1 for the matter) is that black can follow with 30... Qd1+ 31 Kg2 (or Kf2) Qd2 and the next black move will be 32 ... Qh6, stoppin white's attack.
Oct-03-04   notsodeepthought: Typos in the previous post, that should have been Qd2+ (not just Qd2 - if it weren't check, black would be in trouble...), as well as stoppinG.

tpstar: <notsodeepthought> Thank you very much - I missed the defensive resource 32 ... Qh6 forcing a Queen trade and saving the piece.
