Jul-10-05   sneaky pete: Such an irritating Queen. Notice the cute variation 90.Kd5 Qd3 91.Rd4 Qxb5#

  wwall: Perhaps best is 87.Kd5. After 87...Qxg5+ 88.Kc4 Qc1+ 89.Kb3 Qb1+ 90.Ka4 and it looks like a draw.

If 88.Kd5, then 88...Qd3+ 89.Kc5 (89.Rd4?? Qxb5 mate) 89...b6+ 90.Rxb6 Qe3+ 91.Rd4 Qxg5 92.Kc4 (92.Kc6 Qc1+ and 93...Kxb6) 92...Kxb6 wins for Black.

If 91.Kc6, then Qe6+ 92.Kc5 Qxb6+ 93.Kb4 Qd6+ 94.Ka4 Qe5 95.Ka5 Kb7 96.Ka4 Qxg5 and Black should win.

or 93...Qxg5 94.Rxf7+ Kb6 95.Kc3 Qe3+ 96.Kb2 Qxe4 and Black wins.

94.Ka5 Qe1+ 95.Ka4 Qd1+ 96.Kb4 Qd2+ 97.Kb3 Qxg5 wins.

Dec-11-05   malbase: This is a game where Abrahams offered Mieses a draw 5 times, and was refused each time.
