Kibitzer's Corner
Sep-01-05   Autoreparaturwerkbau: I wonder where exactly white went wrong here? With 10.Bxc5 perhaps?
Sep-01-05   sitzkrieg: even at 13th move it seems white can live on. I was thinking about f.e. 13. c3

By the move g4? white allows black to attack f3(2) yet another time and open the f file.

At least that is what i think:P

Honza Cervenka: In 1951 Endre Steiner was already dead. This is a game of Herman Steiner
Sep-04-06   blackjacki2: John Edward was the arbiter
Sep-04-06   Chess Lou Zer: What a vicious but innocuous-looking counter attack. It looks like it comes from nowhere, but suddenly it's unstoppable!

Resignation Trap: <Honza Cervenka> is right, the American Herman Steiner played Black in this game. Here's the crosstable: http://xoomer.alice.it/cserica/scac... .
Sep-05-06   Rocafella: Aw shame, I remember <jaymthe...> saying he thought he'd played the spirit of philidor (eh? are you serious). Thought this was a similar thing...
Sep-05-06   the bad bishop: Silly game all round.
4....Bc5?? rather than d4
5. Bxf7? (Why did he miss Nxf7)
Just goes downhill from there.
I take some solace from the fact that I save my rubbish moves for slightly later in the game - move 10 onwards!
Sep-15-06   Omulcusobolani: First 4..Bc5 isn't a blunder, white didn't miss Nxf7 he just didn't want to fight for a draw the rest of the short game that would follow.Mister bad bishop i urge you to look for games where white played Nxf7.
