Nov-11-06  Whitehat1963: Interesting game, but NN is clearly no match for the Man of Steel.
Dec-26-06  Atking: <aragorn69:> Thanks for this precise historical complement. Still I'm afraid that in all this crazy opening is still alive after more logical (Even if it looks virtualy not dynamic)18.NxNd7+! RxNd7 19.Bxf4 and 20.Kb6 for the 21.Na6# Not easy to stop now, the diagonal f4-b8 !
Sep-01-07  Rubenus: <yudhimaster> His rating was 2001 :)
Sep-06-07  xeroxmachine: If a person who dont know anything about chess would look at this game he would probably say: -"well, chess isnt that hard its just to move around your pices randomly and hope for a win".

Domdaniel: It's a lot less random than it seems. White very nearly gets mated: at one point it looks like a classic king hunt, with Black offering material to draw the white king into a mating net. Then, shazam ... something kinda *shimmers* ... and suddenly White is on the attack, throwing away queen and rooks to deflect the black queen, and proving that his own king is an attacking piece. Beyond beautiful. And I don't care what 19th century Frankensteinian laboratory it got cooked up in.

OBIT: <al wazir>, on 13...Ne4: Have you forgotten your queen is hanging? :) Just play 14. Nxh4. There is no forced mate, and White is up two pieces after 14...Be6+ 15. Kd3 Nf2+ 16. Kc2 Nxd1 17. Kxd1.
Oct-20-07  psmith: <OBIT> <al wazir> It looks to me like a.w. was thinking that Ne4 was check (as it would be if it were Ne5)...
Nov-07-07  srinivas6195: Steel was a brutal attacking player
Jan-28-08  jovack: excellent game.

excellent as in 'entertaining'.

Mar-16-08  Jason Frost: OMG! Remarcable final position
Apr-04-08  PolishPentium: For Black: 25...Qxg2. Any merit to that move?

The following moves are rather forced:
<26.Bd6+ Kd8 27.b8=Q+ Bc8+ 28.Kb6 Qb7+> Threat has been 29.Qc7#. <29.Qxb7 Bxb7 30.Bxe8 Kxe8 31.Kxb7> and white is B+P up.

As stated/analysed before <25.Bc8> or <25.Rc8> drew.

"Enjoy"!

Jun-26-08  apexin: very nice game.manufactured or not it is a piece of art.
Jul-07-08  gus inn: The whole game is to my best recollection an old analysis of Steinitz (but still entertaining !) .
Dec-13-08  thebribri8: This game is just ridiculous!
Mar-20-09  WhiteRook48: 27 Bb6# is made of steel
Apr-17-09  WhiteRook48: 25....Qxg2 26 Bb6+ Kb8 27 Bxe8 followed by 28 Ka7 and 29 b8=Q
May-12-09  Dr. J: Can't Black win by 25 ... Rb8 26 Bd6+ Kd8 27 Bxb8 Bc8?

  Honza Cervenka: <Dr. J: Can't Black win by 25 ... Rb8 26 Bd6+ Kd8 27 Bxb8 Bc8?> No. After 25...Rb8 white mates with 26.Bb6#.

Honza Cervenka: 18.Nxd7+! seems to win for white. 18...Rxd7 21.Bxf4 (attacking Queen and threatening Kb6 with unavoidable mate at once) or 18...Bxd7+ 19.Kb6 with threats Na6# or Bxf4 in the air is clearly resignable. Of course, 18...Kxc7 19.Bxf4+ with next RxQ is bad as well. The only playable line is 18...Kxb7 but after 19.Nc5+ Ka7 (19...Kxc7? 20.Bxf4+ ) 20.Nxe8 Rxe8 21.Kxa5 white has huge material advantage and should win though the continuation would be stll interesting.
Feb-26-10  randomsac: This is just an amazing win for white. The king ends up sealing the deal after being hunted for just about the whole game. The double rook sac was nice too.

sevenseaman: Except near the end, at no stage did the White win look likely. It looks like a manufactured game.
Apr-18-12  erniecohen: 20...Rd5 0-1
