fredthebear: 24.Kb1 Ba4# and 24.Kc1 Ba4+ will mate next move as the discovered check cleared the mating square on the back rank for the Black queen to finalize.

24.Kd2 RxNg1 looks strong, removing the defender of the e2-square for entry by the Black queen supported by the bishop. However, 25.NxNe5 provides a new defender and gets back the piece; yet Black is still winning.

So, 24.Kd2 Re2+ is better, leading to mate in a few moves. Trying to run away fails to 25.Kc1 Nd3+ 26.Kb1 Bc2+ 27.Ka1 Re1#. If Black captures by 25.KxBd1 Rxb2+ 26.Kc1 Nd3# or 26.Ke1 Nd3+ 27.Kf1 Qd1#.

All versions end up as back rank mates.
