  Eggman: 6.Bb5??

Ouch! Even without 8...f5! Black would net a free pawn. The finish is simple but unusual: whatever White's reply, Black saves one Knight with a gain of tempo by attacking the Queen (e.g. 9.exf5 e.p. Nxf6! or 9.Qe2 Nd4!), and then saves the second Knight as well.

scutigera: Losing in eight moves is humiliating enough, but in a correspondence game? Maybe he thought "correspondence" included thumbing out your moves on a two-way pager on a subway during rush hour without sight of the board.

perfidious: A yet quicker dose of humiliation would be a trap in which an old friend caught an unwary opponent in CC play.

After receiving 1.d4, the opponent sent on the conditional 1....g6, with '2.any Bg7', a line which comes to grief after 2.Bh6. After Black got 2.Bh6 Bg7 3.Bxg7 in the post, he resigned on the spot.
