Kibitzer's Corner
Nov-06-03  Diggitydawg: This is very interesting. The FIDE male world champ is beaten by the FIDE female champ and he's playing white! She wins a pawn at move 27, then another one at move 43, then wins the white B at move 51 (based upon the threat of a passed pawn). Excellent play by Zhu Chen!

Since this was at FIDE's grand prix at Dubai, I am assuming it was played at FIDE time controls of 90 minutes/30 sec.

Dec-21-03  shadowmaster: <Since this was at FIDE's grand prix at Dubai, I am assuming it was played at FIDE time controls of 90 minutes/30 sec.> Actually, the Dubai event used rapid time controls, which I assume was 25min/10sec, which is the standard FIDE time control for rapid. Itís hard to keep track of these things; the time control info was buried in the text of this article:
Jun-17-04  cousinIT: I think maybe Ruslan gets a little nervous when playing the girls.....
Jun-17-04  Medic One: He just got outplayed. I guess that goes to show that you shouldn't under estimate anyone.

I got the feeling Rulan thought he had something when he didn't.

Sep-24-04  alexapple: Great Win for ZhuChen.
Apr-07-08  lildemonsc: This is not in Zhu Chen's list of notable games. This might just be the most outragous thing I've seen on CG.
Jun-05-09  Ladolcevita: missing Zhuchen....gone with the Qatar Wind...
