Shams: <Phony Benoni> Are all librarians such good system thinkers? What about flagging games for removal-- have the admins ever addressed the idea, to your knowledge? From a quality control perspective, it's arguably at least as important as adding new games. I've stopped using the <365chess> opening explorer-- tired of clicking all the way to the end of the line to find I'm walking in a Class E player's footsteps. Anyway, I'm stating the obvious-- it's self-evident that games like this shouldn't be here.
What I'd love to see is the following:
1.) Put a "flag for removal" link on every game page-- when you click it, you are directed to a further page where you can select the checkbox option that expresses why you want the game gone, e.g. <"Game is complete hackery">
2.) Once 2 or 3 people have nominated a game for removal, a prominent graphic will appear on that game page, which states "this game has been flagged for yadda yadda" and allows users to vote. If sufficient users vote a game down, it goes away.
There is potential for misuse, which may explain why my idea hasn't been adopted. For example, if a bunch of posters were really cheesed off at one other poster, they could in theory team up and vote his games right off the site. But, I don't think that would ever on chessgames.
