xf7#, but his real blunder is to resign: 7...O-O! leaves him with a playable position as white cannot hang on to the extra piece. For instance 8. Bc1? Nb4 9.Qd1 c2 and black is winning. Best seems 8.

xc3 where black looks terrible but is actually quite safe, has the bishop pair and he'll complete his development quickly with 9...d6. Another try would be 8.
