tpstar: By Move 15, chances are equal. Both sides have castled safely, and the center is quiet. Yet Black has two Knights pointed at f4, so 16. g4?! is a serious positional mistake allowing Black's Knights to utilize that hole. White got around it by arranging two sets of trades, and then he would have loved to play 22. Qxf4 regaining the Pawn, however that loses the exchange to 22 ... d5 23. e5 Bxf3 24. Qxf3 Bxe5+ & 25 ... Bxa1. 29 ... Qg5 was strong, threatening 30 ... Qg2#, and then 30. Bxf3 Be5 covering h8. White may have been surprised by the Zwischenzug 32 ... Qxh4!, leading to 33. Qb2 with faint attacking hopes until 33 ... Rd1+! 34. Bxd1 Qxh1+ and Black wins the Bd1 after 35. Ke2 f3+ 36. Kd2 Rd8+.
