Feb-25-03  Plasmatics: Ugh...You've got to be kidding me. 11 moves.
Feb-25-03  Spitecheck: Yes but the crafty Ponomariov assured the young 15 year old that he could force the draw in 15 moves.

I once won a game in about 5 moves, barely anybody had started a game in the tournament hall and my opponent had already resigned. It was a typical open Sicilian he had his N on c6 I had captured with my knight on d4, than he flashed out the "thematic" b5 leaving his knight undefended from it's counterpart on d4. After checking my analysis for like 2 seconds I snapped it up and that was that.

Although I hate the notion I played the swiss gambit once against a kid, on the advice of my mentor, I forced a draw in 13 moves with a Greek Gift like sac (perpetual). Anybody else want to add to the short game stories..........oh yeah my quickest loss was about 19 moves, that was on the Black side of a Four Pawns KID against a master, sad part was most of it was theory LOL. As soon as I left the book I was toasted.

refutor: well i'm ashamed of it, but here's my first game v. an IM (Tom O'Donnell) in an Active Tournament 2001

1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 d6 3.d4 cxd4 4.Nxd4 Nf6 5.Nc3 Nc6 6.Bc4 Qb6 now i was very nervous, like knee shaking nervous, so i played the dubious and losing 7.Bb3?? like you do in most lines after 6. ... e6, not noticing that the big difference between the Qb6 lines and the e6 lines is that the queen is attacking d4...my worst game ever :( i blame it all on intimidation ;)

Feb-25-03  Plasmatics: You guys are lucky, playing against masters and IMs. I've never even played against anyone good! (Not that I'd win :p )

How long have you guys been playing for?

refutor: i've been playing for a couple of years now, and believe me, i don't deserve to play against anyone that good. ;)
Feb-25-03  pjw: Plasmatics - head over to gameknot.com and try a few of the higher rated players, I'm not quite sure how to compare it to OTB chess, but you'll find some good players there.
Feb-26-03  Plasmatics: refutor: Heh. That's comforting.

pjw: Maybe I'll try that. I can't get beaten enough. :p

Feb-26-03  mjjohansen: Well, after seeing young Radjabov flay Kasparov the other day, one must say he looks promising...
Oct-13-05  Spidergirl: I see this and remembers me Drawmnik............
